Obituary of Rita Mae Hachey

The passing of Rita Mae Hachey of New Bandon, NB, occurred on March 18, 2022 at her home.  Born on July 26, 1944 in Renous, NB,  she was the daughter of the late Helen (Hambrook) and Walter Long. Rita worked for the School Board in Toronto. No matter where she was, Rita loved going to church.

Rita is survived by her son, Steve Hachey (Darlene) of Scarborough, ON; daughter, Tina Hachey of Toronto, ON; grandchildren, Ryan, Aaron and Johnny Hachey; brothers, Vaughn Long of Etobicoke, ON, Marven Long (Agnes) of Mississauga, ON and David Long (Kay) of New Maryland, NB; sisters, Joyce Lyons of Fredericton, NB, Anne Chaison (Rheal) of Riverview, NB, and Marilyn Manderville (Tommy) of Quispamsis, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rita was predeceased by her sister, Carolyn Price, and brother, Norman Long.

Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 11 AM to 1 PM.  The funeral will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Roger Mitchell officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Carrolls Crossing Baptist Church or donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
