Obituary of Helen J. Crawford

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Crawford wife of Ronald E. Crawford on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at York Care Centre.  Born in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Fraser and Marg Minue.

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Trudy (Mark Welton); son, Tony (Shauna Miller); sister, Ruth Daly and special friend, Sharon Welton.

 

She worked many years for the Liberal Party of New Brunswick and finished her career with the New Brunswick Department of Transportation.  Helen loved sports and was an avid bowler; she participated in many Provincial Tournaments. She enjoyed biking, tennis, cross country skiing and was a beautiful skater.  Other interest included playing cards and dancing.  Helen also enjoyed walking the family dogs, Tina, Tacey and Mocha.  She loved to sew and make quilts.  Helen spent forty eight summers at Grand Lake, where she enjoyed time at her cottage with family and friends.  She also wintered twenty three years in Venice, Florida, where she was the activity director in her park for three and half years.  Above all her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Dylan and Dawson Welton. 

 

The family would like to thank the staff at York Care Centre, Tower Three for their care and kindness toward Helen.  A special thank you to Pastor Normand McDonald for his Pastoral Care to Helen and her family it was greatly appreciated.  Also the family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Barry and staff for the many years of care. 

 

A Private Service will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Fredericton, NB at a later date.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to York Care Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
