Obituary of Allan George Green

With great sadness we announce the passing of Allan George Green, husband of Diann (Wright) Etter of Fredericton, NB, on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Fredericton Hospice.  Born on March 6, 1934 in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Harold and Minnie (Sewell) Green. Allan worked in carpentry and construction for several companies over the years. He was a member of Stepping Stone Seniors Centre, the Troubadour Group, City Centre Choir and Folks on Spokes bicycle club. His joy of music came from his Dad. Allan played harmonica, violin and strum stick. He also spent time in amateur theatre, loving every minute of his “showbiz career”.

In addition to his wife, Allan is survived by his children, Danny Green (Susan), Steve Green (Gail), Esther Bedard (Francis), all of Fredericton and Andy Green (Jill) of Hanwell; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; special niece, Bonnie Noble; sister, Nancy Hodgson (Richard); several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Allan was predeceased by his first wife, Beatrice (Wood) Green; granddaughter, Natalie McCoy; sisters, Frances Kenny, Thelma Chessie; brother, Donnie Green.

Masks and proof of vaccination will be required to attend all services. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 6-8 pm.  A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 2 pm with Rev. Peter Thomas and Rev. Mary Tingley officiating.  Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery at a later date.
