Rhoda Margaret MacKellar of Fredericton, NB, formally of Gladwyn passed away peacefully with family at her side at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on February 15, 2022. Rhoda was born in Plaster Rock, NB on December 27, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Inez Robertson (Copp).
Rhoda was dearly loved by her family and friends who will miss her smile, laughter and most of all her loving presence in their lives.
She is survived and greatly missed by her daughter, Deborah (David) Caron of Edmonton, AB; her sons, Tim (Denise) MacKellar of Edmonton, AB, and Bill (Heather) MacKellar of Fredericton, NB; her brothers, Andrew Robertson of Ottawa, ON, Clem Robertson (Ruby) of Plaster Rock, NB, and Allen Robertson (Sharon) of Kingston, ON; four grandchildren, Ethan, Jessie, Matthew and Courtney; and five great grandchildren, Blake, Sophie, Claire, Callum and Chloe. Rhoda was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Ranald MacKellar; two sons, Leslie and Steven; one daughter, Diana Lynn; and her sister, Iva Hollins.
A Memorial Service will be held from Capital Community Church, 71 Downing Street, Fredericton, NB on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 1 pm with Pastor Matthew Woodward officiating and Pastor Jack Leaman assisting. Those attending the service must provide proof of vaccinations as well as government issued ID. Masks will also be required. The service can also be viewed through the church’s YouTube page. The link can be found on York Funeral Home’s website at the top of the obituary (http://www.capitalcommunity.tv). Interment will take place at St Paul’s United Church, Gladwyn at a later date.
