Dear Harland & family, We were so sad to hear about Peggy & can only imagine what a tremendous loss for all who knew & loved her but especially her beloved Harland, Kevin, Paulette & their families. So many beautiful & accurate tributes to Peggy & it’s hard to find the right words to say what’s in our hearts. Simply put the smile on Peggy’s face was in her heart & it was always shining for everyone around her. We will miss you Peggy & we are sending our heartfelt condolences & love at this most difficult time. Love Terry, Marie & Dylan Main in Halifax, Nova Scotia

I did not know it back then but as I grow older and look back at life I certainly know now that I was living across Hayes Brook from one of the most beautiful, kind and generous personalities I will come to know in my life. Whenever Peggy's name came up in any of my families conversations it inevitably included the question "have you ever seen her without that smile?" Peggy and Harland were the dream neighbors that we all hope to have. Peggy's quiet, unassuming ways, her open friendliness and her even-keeled approach to life could be a lesson for anyone who wants to have a life well lived. Beautiful people leave beautiful memories that bring a smile every time you think of them.
Harland, Paulette and Kevin, I hope time can ease your pain and fill your hearts with the beautiful memories of Peggy's bright light and endless smile.
Rick Hunter and family.

Words are just words. It is easy to say how wonderful Peggy was and how kind and how thoughtful. The words are absolutely true but Peggy actually lived those words every day. It did not matter if she agreed or disagreed or approved or did not approve she was always positive and kind.
Peggy was always pleased to see anyone and to hear of their news. Her voice was always welcoming. Never did you stop there and not feel you were welcome or that you overstayed your welcome.
In her kind unassuming way she always let everyone know she wanted to hear what you had to say and happily would tell you of her news. She would tell of her family near and far and you could just feel the love and pride she had in her loved ones.
She always spoke of peoples successes with happiness, and you could feel how happy she was for them.
Recently I was lucky enough to be able to spend some time with Peggy and right up to the last time I saw her, her concerns were for her beloved Harland, Paulette & Garnett, Kevin & Heather, and of course her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Angels on earth are few and far between but anyone who knew Peggy knew one personally. You will be missed our dear friend.
To all her family you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love Stephen & Tammi

Harland and family,
Vernon and I were both shocked and saddened to hear of Peggy’s passing. There are so many wonderful things we could say about her. She was a little ray of sunshine! Peggy and Harland are “salt of the earth” people. We always enjoyed our little chat in the grocery store. Visits were always welcoming with a cup of tea and a lunch.
Harland, you are in our thoughts and our heart!
Sincere condolences!
Love Vernon and Jackie

If I had to sum up Peggy in one word, it would be "warmth" - warmth in her smile, her welcoming nature, her good heart ... so many ways she let people know she was genuinely glad to see them. Her sense of humor, her ever-ready laugh, her generous spirit ... how do you even begin to adequately describe someone like her?
Peggy had that special "something" that drew people to her, and always thought of others and their needs. Her ever-ready grin and sassy wit made her a delight to be around and you knew you'd find a welcome at her door - and the offer of a cup of tea or a "bite of lunch". I can't recall ever hearing her say an unkind word about anyone, and that warm, welcoming way of hers drew people to her so effortlessly and made her a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbor to so many.
Peggy will be so greatly missed - her passing has left a huge hole in the lives of those who knew and loved her. I truly believe that the "light" that was Peggy has not been extinguished but rather, relocated, and is shining brightly in God's kingdom. What a reunion awaited her when she stepped from this world into His welcoming arms and heard Him say, "Well done, my child. Welcome home." I feel blessed to have known and loved her and blessed to call her "aunt", and to have precious memories to cherish. Until we meet again ...
Love,
Karen Sorenson (Colwell)
