Obituary of Dale Lawrence White

The passing of Lawrence (Dale) White of Fredericton, NB, loving husband of Ruby (Ackerson) White occurred on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at his home. Dale was 85 years old, born on June 27, 1936 in Marysville, NB. He was the son of the late Lawrence “Mike” and Alma (Sharpe) White. The family feels very fortunate to have provided care and been by Dale’s side at home until the end.

Dale retired from the Federal Government Public Works and the Department of National Defense. He was a member of The Drive Baptist Church. Dale enjoyed fishing on the Miramichi River and also enjoyed hunting. He loved his family and always put them first, and was a joy to anyone who met him.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, Dale is survived by his children, Michael White, Janet Betts (Keith) and Faith Warren (Robert); seven grandchildren, Melissa and Brittany Betts, Jonathan Betts (Alice), Kerri-Ann Sturgeon (Adam), Kelsey Hansen (Randy) and Shelly Warren (Lionel Doucet) and Ashlie White. 15 great grandchildren Ayden, Karlie, Kenley, Klaire, Kate, Kenson, Liam, Max, Klaudia, Karter, Hudson, Layla, Kyra, Jaeleigh and Blaikly; as well as several nieces and nephews. Dale was predeceased by sisters June Clark (Norval) and Nellie J. Broome (Albert).

All Covid 19 restrictions will be in place for all services; proof of vaccination and ID will be required. There will be limited seating at the funeral service. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 6-8pm. The Funeral Service will take place at The Drive Baptist Church on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 2 pm with Rev. Gordon Cook officiating. Anyone wishing to watch the live broadcast via Zoom, is asked to contact the church with their information. Interment will take place in Marysville Baptist Cemetery in the spring.
