Obituary of Lorraine Josephine Melanson

The passing of Lorraine Josephine Melanson of Marysville , NB, occurred on January 22, 2022 at Nashwaak Villa.  Born on March 18, 1936 in Marysville, NB, she was the daughter of the late George and Nellie (Peterson) Abernethy. 

 

Lorraine worked for doctors Tom and Carolyn Barry, she was a nanny to their 6 children for 23 years, they were her second family to her following right up to her passing. 

 

Lorraine is survived by daughter Susan Taylor (Peter) of Fredericton, sons Brian Dunphy of Fredericton and Brad Dunphy (Leslie) of Golden, BC, sisters Louise Goodine and Nora Lynn Boyce (Glendon) of Marysville, sister Kathy Knorr (Jerry) of Fredericton, chosen daughters Debbie Goodine and Shelly Estey, grandchildren, Brad Dunphy (Nuchjaree), Gordon Dunphy (Paige) and Colby Dunphy (Courtney); great grandchildren, Ava and Hayes, step children, Sheri, Lee and Chris Melanson, several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say thanks for the staff at of Nashwaak Villa for their wonderful care they provided. 

Due to the current public advisory with regards to Covid-19 there will be no service at this one time, a celebration of her life will be at a later date.
