Obituary of Margaret Mary Dealy

Margaret Mary (Martin) Dealy of 200 Reynolds Street, Fredericton, NB, passed away on January 16, 2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital with her loving children by her side at the age of 69.

Born in Chatham NB, she was the daughter of the late John and Viola (Carter) Martin.   Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bill; sister, Anne T. Martin and brother-in-law, Sandy Kingston. 

She is survived by her children, David Martin of Miramichi, NB, Shelly Christie (Derek), Diane McCullough (John) and William Dealy all of Fredericton, NB; brothers, John Martin (Mary) of Saint John, NB and George Martin (Debbie) of Miramichi, NB; sisters, Mary Kingston and Cathy Martin of Miramichi, NB; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted mother to her four children and four grandchildren (Olivia, Grace, Gwyneth and Lucas).  She spent the last 14 years of her life helping raise them.  Everything she did was for her children and her proudest moments were the birth of her grandchildren.  She was involved in every aspect of their lives.  Our fondest memories of our mom, were the road trips we took, whale watching in particular.  Margaret knew life’s purpose was to find joy and love in the small things everyday.

Margaret served her community happily for over 45 years at the Portage Restaurant in Miramichi and was affiliated with Saint Michael’s Basilica.  Margaret had an incredible work ethic and lead by example.  She had many regular customers who were her friends.  Margaret loved to travel, she was always on the road, travelling between Fredericton and Miramichi to be with her family. 

Margaret lived a life full of purpose and gratitude for 69 years in Chatham NB.  In 2021 she moved to Fredericton, NB to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

There will be no visitation or service at this time.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  For those who wish, donations may be made to the Miramichi Emergency Centre for Women.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
