Obituary of Michael Andrew Rickard

RICKARD, MICHAEL ANDREW

June 14, 1947 – January 5, 2022

With profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Michael Andrew Rickard on January 5. 2022 at York Care Centre, Fredericton NB. Born June 14, 1947 and raised in Saint John, NB, Michael’s career took him and his family to Charlottetown, PEI, and Fredericton, NB, where he retired following a 30 year career with the City of Fredericton.

Michael is predeceased by the love of his life, Gail Rickard (nee Tiner), and his parents, Archie and Marjorie Rickard.

The family will miss him desperately and he leaves behind to mourn, his children: Bethany Wood (Dale), Robyn Dean (Joel), Randy Rickard (Trish), and Troy Rickard (Nancy); grandchildren: Laurana (Nikolas) Yasinski, Kristen Wood, Spencer Dean, Natasha Dean, Ariel Rickard, Addison Rickard, his brother Peter Rickard (Sylvia), and well as many other close friends and family.

The family would like to thank the staff at York Care Centre for the care Michael received during his residency. There is no funeral planned at this time.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the IWK Foundation or The Alzheimer Society of Canada. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
