Obituary of Candace Anne Downing

The passing of Candace "Kandi" Anne Downing of Fredericton, NB, wife of Allen Downing, occurred on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on May 11, 1960 in Etobicoke, ON, she was the daughter of Graydon and Marie (Ferguson) Goodine.  Kandi had a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, and after many years retired from the Department of Social Development.  She enjoyed crafts, sewing, gardening and cooking.  She had a love for life and cherished all the friendships along the way.  

 

In addition to her husband, Kandi is survived by son, Chad Goodine of Squamish, BC; step-son, Tyler Downing; siblings, Roger Goodine, Debbie Cook (Tom) and Corey Goodine; multiple cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances; and her dog, Gia. 

 

Kandi was predeceased by her brother, Bobby Goodine.

 

In keeping with Kandi's wishes there will be no visitation or service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation (Dialysis Unit).  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
