We are saddened to announce the death of Jamie Robichaud, husband of Lisa (Barwise) Robichaud and son of Lyn and Omer Robichaud, on Friday December 17, 2021 at the age of 48. He died peacefully at Hospice Fredericton following a battle with cancer.
Jamie’s two greatest prides in his life were his daughter, Emily, and his son, Nicholas.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Lisa; parents, Lyn and Omer Robichaud; daughter, Emily; son, Nicholas; sister Stacy (Chris Rockwood); brother Marc (Denise Armstrong); in-laws Ann and Sherrill Barwise; sisters-in-law Denice Hrynowetsky (Sheldon), Dionne Barwise (Scott Henwood) and Ellen Barwise; nieces and nephews Maggie and Sam Rockwood, Easton Whalen, Hannah, Mackenzie and Brady Hrynowetsky, Nathan and Olive Barwise; and many friends and relatives.
When not with family, Jamie and Lisa were at a sporting event coaching or cheering on their kids and teammates. They also enjoyed having drinks with friends and neighbours on weekends while Jamie told a story or two - in his own time.
Jamie loved coaching as it allowed him to teach and mentor young athletes. He also loved the camaraderie of working with his co-coaches.
He was a loyal employee of Aliant for 23 years and enjoyed his work. But most of all he enjoyed working with his colleagues, many of whom became close friends.
Jamie was a music lover and an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. While he was the ultimate planner, he also had a great sense of mischief - of which his siblings, family, co-workers, friends and children were often the recipients.
The family would like to extend its gratitude to the team at Hospice House, his NB Extra Mural team and all of his healthcare providers for the care and comfort in his last months and days.
Public visitations will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, on Tuesday December 21, 2021 from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm. Due to the current health situation, a Celebration of Life, by invitation, will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday December 22, 2021 at 1pm. For those unable to attend the service, it can be viewed by registering through the Funeral Home’s Website (Click on the link in Jamie’s obituary). For those attending the visitation or Celebration of Life, masks, proof of vaccination and government issued ID is required.
Honorary pallbearers are his dad Omer, brother Marc and his brother-in-law Chris.
Interment will take place at the Hardings Point Cemetery, Westfield at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice House or a local charity of choice. Personal condolences may be made through www.yorkfh.com.
