Obituary of Victor Cameron Ross

The passing of Victor Cameron Ross, husband of the late Jacqueline (Lewis) Ross occurred on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at his residence in Boiestown, NB. Born on March 7, 1935, Victor was the son of the late Clarence and Agnes (Fairley) Ross.

 

Victor was a heavy equipment operator and worked for more than 30 years in the construction and logging industries with Diamond Construction and Bowater Inc., prior to his retirement in 2000. Although he operated several kinds of equipment during his career, he was best known for his many years as grader operator in the Miramichi’s Rocky Brook area. Victor had a knack for fixing and maintaining anything mechanical. He was known for his story telling and always had time for anyone who wanted to chat. He loved his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Victor will be sadly missed by his daughters Roxanne (Michael) O’Donnell, Mary (Dennis) Stymiest, Charlene (Danny) MacLellan, Jennifer (Jamie) Parker, Tracey (Terry) O’Donnell, Colleen (Greg) Dunphy and sons Steven (Donna) Ross, and Gregory (Janice) Ross.

 

In addition to his children, Victor is survived by his brothers Bob and Larry, sister Marion Dawson, brother-in-law Ray Lewis, and sister-in-law Edna Polanik.

 

Victor will also be sadly missed by 22 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and friend Carl Young.

 

Besides his parents, Victor was predeceased by siblings Christine, Philip, Ted, and Herman and by his father and mother-in law Mervin and Alice Lewis.

 

As per Victor’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will take place at the United Church Cemetery, Boiestown, NB, at a later date.
