Oldham, Harold (Hap)

It is with great sadness that the family of Hap Oldham announce his death on November 14th, 2021 peacefully in his 81st year at the DECRH.  Beloved husband of 56 years to Pat Oldham and loving father to Andrew (Helen) of Mississauga, ON; Lori Hopkin (Garth) of Allenford, ON; and Janice Briggs (Grady) of Fredericton, NB.  Grampie to Evan and Kirsten Oldham, Tyler and Josh (Haileigh) Hopkin and Alex and Matthew Briggs.  Survived by brother Gilbert Oldham (Ann), sister Zora Plummer and brothers-in-law John (Suzanne), Pierre (Belinda), Mark (Janis) and David LaRochelle and several nieces and nephews. 

After 30 years in several forestry positions, Hap finally retired as Director General, Maritime Division of the Canadian Forestry Service to enjoy 25 years of summers with family and friends at Robertson’s Point and exploring the world with Pat. 

Visitation will be at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, on Thursday, November 18th, 2021 from 4pm to 7pm.  Visitors must be double-vaccinated and wear masks.  By Hap’s request, there will be no funeral service. 

For those who wish, donations to the Palliative Care Unit (DECRH) or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.  Online condolences and remembrances can be made at www.yorkfh.com.

The family would like to express its gratitude for the care and compassion given to Hap by the staff at  Paradise Villa, the Palliative Care Unit at DECRH also special thanks to the ambulance medics and emergency room staff.
