Obituary of Sydney Raymond Haines

HAINES, SYDNEY RAYMOND

The passing of Sydney Raymond Haines of Burtts Corner, NB, husband of Eleanor (Melanson) Haines occurred on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on December 2, 1943 in Burtts Corner, NB, he was the son of the late Arthur and Greta (Brewer) Haines.  Sydney was ordained and served as a Associate Pastor at Apostolic Watchman Pentecostal Church, Tripp Settlement Road, Burtts Corner, NB; he also worked as a Labourer.  He loved to read his Bible, listening to Old Time Hymns and was gifted at caring for others. 

In addition to his wife, Sydney is survived by daughter, Mary Lou Willis (Trevor) of Three Hills, AB and son, Patrick Haines of Vancouver, BC; granddaughter, Taylor Horner (Elijah); sisters, Noreen Yeo and May Dunn both of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Paul Haines and  Darrel Haines both of Burtts Corner, NB and Harold Haines of Penniac, NB. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Dinah Taylor and brother, Sanford Haines.

Visitation will take place at the Apostolic Watchman Pentecostal Church on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  The Funeral Service will take place at Apostolic Watchman Pentecostal Church on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 2 pm with Pastor Lewis Seeley officiating. Interment will take place in Zealand Community Cemetery.
