Obituary of Murdick William Munn

It is with great sadness the family of Murdick William Munn, husband of Geraldine (McKeil) Munn of Holtville, NB announce his move from the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home to his new Heavenly home. Born on February 25, 1930 to the late Harold and Hessie Munn (Davis).  He was 91 years old.

He is survived by daughters, Sereta Kidney (Kevin) of Nackawic, Agnes Porter (Michael D.) of Nashwaak Bridge and Hannah Lovelace (Donald) of Holtville; sons, Wendell (Loretta) of Quispamsis, Lonnie (Stacey) of Holtville and Alton (Jody) of Miramichi;  He is also survived by grandchildren, Nathan, Eric, Bonita, Sabrina, Shara, Bryan, Billy, Christina, Kyle, Kaylee, Jason, and Brady; several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; his sister Valerie Fairley (George); and sister in law, Janette Munn.

Besides his parents, Murdick was predeceased by his sister, Clara Witherell (James); and brother Marlin Munn.

Murdick started working in the woods with his grandfather at the age of 14.  Over the years he was a night watchman at Colters Mill and was a rural mail carrier. He always had more than one job at a time as he was always cutting wood while doing other jobs.

He enjoyed making music and could sing and could play any musical instrument he got his hands on.  He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and especially family get-togethers.

Visitation will be at Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 6 – 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Miramichi Valley Chapel on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 2 pm with Pastor Ralph Fowler officiating. Interment will be in Cameron Hill Cemetery, Holtville, NB.
