Obituary of Ina Miriam Dassett

The passing of Ina Miriam Dassett (nee Dunphy), wife of Garnet Joseph Dassett of Fredericton, NB, occurred on August 9, 2021 at Pine Grove Nursing Home.  Born on December 22, 1935 in Stanley, NB, she was the daughter of the late Otto Hilton Dunphy and Dora Josephine (Foreman) Dunphy. Ina worked at NBTel for 25 years, first as an operator and later in the engineering department.

Ina is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Calhoun) Sparkes of Fredericton; sons, Barry Calhoun (Trina) of Stanley, Gary Calhoun (Rhonda) of Jacksonville; step-daughters, Susan LaBelle (Ron) of Owen Sound, ON, Shelley Kirby (Derek) of Guelph, ON; grandchildren, Matthew Calhoun, Brittney Trider (Dana), Jaclyn Prosser (Devon), Josh Calhoun (Andrea). Lindsey Budovitch (Dustin) and Jamie Sparkes (Nisha); several great-grandchildren; brother, Vernon Dunphy of Boiestown; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Walter, Marvin and Floyd Dunphy.

At Ina's request there will be no public visitation or service. A private interment will take place in St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery, Stanley at a later date.
