Obituary of Karen Frances Munn

Please share a memory of Karen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With saddened and heavy hearts Karen Munn (Pepin) entered eternal happiness and moved along to her new chapter of life.  Karen was a beautiful, determined, strong lady loved by all those who knew her well.

Karen was a cherished wife to her “Beloved Geoff”; a loving mother to her cherished son, David Pepin (Jennifer) and her two precious grandsons, Ben and Connor; she will be deeply missed by her sister, Louise Piercy (Ted); step brother, Rick Russell; step sisters, Gail Russell and Joy Asher. Karen is survived by her mother, Doris Dillon, she is also survived by her nephew, Todd Piercy, and Geoff’s children, Chris Munn (Valerie) and Tanya Giles (Brian), as well as other related nieces, nephews and grandchildren. In addition to her father, Clement Pepin (1976); step father, Ron Dillon (2008), she was predeceased by her nephew, Tyson Piercy (2007).

During her working career, Karen was known by many ladies in the Fredericton area as an esthetician, crafting beautiful nails, working in her business “Nails By Karen”. On retirement she pursued her passion for crafts and starting “Creations By Karen Munn”, many of which adorn her home.  Karen’s other passion was cooking special meals and entertaining family and friends in her home.  She also had a special place in her heart for those not as fortunate, as well as animals especially cats.

Karen and Geoff were married in the Barbados in 2000, and purchased a time share, where they have returned most years with their friends, Wendy and Ed Smith. Over the years we were fortunate enough to travel to many cities in the United States and Mexico.

As per Karen’s request there will be no funeral or visitation.  A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held at a later date by invitation, followed the next day by a Private Graveside Service.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made in Karen’s memory to the Chalmers Hospital Foundation, Fredericton SPCA or the charity of the donor’s choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
