Obituary of Douglas Alden Dunphy

The passing of Douglas "Doug" Alden Dunphy of Fredericton, NB, husband of Marjorie (Lyons) Dunphy, occurred on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Hospice House, Fredericton, NB.  Born on January 14, 1942 in Fredericton, NB,  he was the son of the late Alden and Ruby (Jordan) Dunphy. Doug worked as a Mechanic and a Car Salesman.  He was the Past President of the Nashwaaksis Lions Club. Doug was an avid Nascar Fan and enjoyed attending car shows in Florida.

In addition to his wife, Marjorie of 55 years, Doug is survived by his children, Angela Gowans (Tom) and Geoff Dunphy; grandchildren, Brett  Murphy (Molly Fowler) and Miranda Murphy; siblings, Gary (Susan), Frank (Debbie), Faye Brown (John) and Jim (Irene); several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 11 am - 1 pm; followed by a Memorial Service at 2 pm with Pastor Carl O'Donnell officiating, the service will be by invitation only. Honouary Pallbearers for the service will be Gordon Chase, John Morrison, Charlie Bowlen, Harry Nicholls, John Nicholls, Merrit Holland and Bob Vanwart. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Fredericton Hospice (Palliative Care Resource Network Inc.).  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
