The passing of Charlene Whalen of Fredericton, NB, partner of Delbert William Cogswell, occurred on June 20, 2021 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on June 15, 1954 in Arthurette, NB,  she was the daughter of the late Annie and Lawrence Sprague. 

In addition to her partner, Charlene is survived by her sons John Whalen and Brian Whalen; grandson, Zachary Whalen; step-children; Lee Cogswell (Kristen), Scot Cogswell and Trinda Cogswell (Ken); step-grandchildren, Zach Cogswell, Connor Cogswell, Carter Cogswell, Calee Cogswell and Sophie Smith; siblings, Hazel (Dave), Iris, Marjorie, Connie (Wayne), Nancy (Claire), Leonard (Linda); several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Charlene was predeceased by her sister, Elsie; daughter-in-law, Shannon Joy Whalen; brother-in-law, Winfred

Charlene worked as a Manager at Southwood Convenience. She enjoyed bowling, and loved spending time with her family.
 

A Private Memorial Service will take place, by invitaiton only, at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 1 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society or donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
