Obituary of Gertrude Elizabeth Henry

The passing of Gertrude Elizabeth Henry of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Leland Clifford Henry, occurred on June 8, 2021 at Pine Grove Nursing Home in Fredericton.  Born on July 9, 1923 in Barony, NB, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Rosborough and Ida (Simmons) Rosborough. Gertrude was a clerk at Devon Pharmacy before retirement. She was a member of Gibson Memorial United Church, Barkers Point and Nashwaaksis Seniors Clubs, volunteer for Meals on Wheels and lifetime member of Lower St. Mary's Women's Institute. Gertrude spent the last 5 years under the care of Pine Grove Nursing Home . The family would like to thank the staff for the excellent care they provided while she was there .

Gertrude is survived by her daughter, Jean Henry of Fredericton; sons, Ronald Henry (Dianne) of Calgary, Lorne Henry (Lanna) of New Maryland, Gerald Henry (Ruth) of Fredericton; grandchildren, Lisa Henry (Mike), Brent Henry (Stephanie), Justin Henry and Eric Henry (Vanessa); several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Laura Joslin.

Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, July 26, 2021 from 5-7 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at Gibson Memorial United Church on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 2 pm with Rev. Brian MacDonald officiating. The church will be providing a live webcast of the service. Please email gibsonmemorial@nb.aibn.com if you wish to register for the live stream. Interment will be in Sunny Bank Cemetery.
