Obituary of Marion Lorena White

Please share a memory of Marion to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

The passing of Marion Lorena White (Arsenault) of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Monday, June 7, 2021 at York Care Centre.  Born on January 24, 1931 in Prince Edward Island, Mom was a very proud Islander with a quick wit and always loved to laugh at a good story or joke, and always had a joke up her sleeve.  Mom grew up on a farm in Coleman, PEI and shared many cherished memories of her time on the farm.  She met Dad, Clyde and they married on August 24, 1953.  In 1961 Dad’s job as Director of CNIB brought them to Fredericton.  There was never a shortage of homemade goods at home, and for a long time Mom even sold home baking, that many people in the neighbourhood enjoyed.  After Dad’s passing Mom worked at Devon Drugs and later at the Provincial Legislature, she made many long lasting friendships along the way.  After retirement you could find Mom always on the go, visiting friends, trips to PEI the Brae, playing shuffleboard, dances, driving car loads of ladies to church suppers and afternoon teas.  She loved tending her flowers in the summer.  Mom’s greatest joy in life was her family.  She was so proud of her grandchildren and great grandchild.   Mom attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and had a strong and steadfast faith.  We will miss you Mom and know you will be watching over us.

Marion is survived by her children, Michael White, Calgary, Alberta, and Dawn McFawn (Roger); six grandchildren, Tanya McFawn (Jeremy), Chrissie Ball (Craig), Jeremy McFawn (Megan), Dustin White, Nicholas White (Mindy), Sarah White (Bruce); one great grandchild, Brody Ball; sister, Cathy; many cousins, including special cousin, Christine Crosland.  She was predeceased by her mother, Lauretta (Arsenault) Vail; husband, Clyde (1971); grandparents, Dames, Annie Arsenault; daughter in law, Lisa White (2020); sister, Joan; brother, Percy; as well as many cherished aunt, uncles and cousins.

We are so grateful and thankful for the loving care, kindness and compassion provided to Mom by everyone in York Care Centre -Dixon Lodge.

There will be no services held at this time; a Funeral Service will take place in St. Anthony’s Church with an Interment in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolence may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
