Obituary of Charlotte Kathleen Doreen Holland

It is with great sadness that the family of Charlotte Kathleen Doreen (Colwell) Holland, wife of the late Weldon M. Holland announces her peaceful passing on June 4, 2021 at Hospice Fredericton. Charlotte was born June 23, 1941 in Ripples NB, the daughter of the late Walter O. and Eleana B. (Fulton) Colwell. Charlotte was the last surviving member of her immediate family, she was predeceased by her brothers Samuel M. (1963), Walter F. (2010); sisters Ineze Smith (2008) and Eva L. Termasch (2019); nephews David Currie, Darrell Smith and niece Marilyn Colwell.

 

Charlotte is survived by her sons Chris (Heather), Dan (Chantel) and Phillip, all from the Fredericton and surrounding area. She is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. Charlotte was loved by all who met her, she had the kindest of hearts and would always make time to talk, she loved sending cards, especially just to let someone know she was thinking of them and wishing them well.

 

Charlotte was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Noonan for 37 years and enjoyed attending the Sunday morning service at the Ripples United Pentecostal Church for the past 2 ½ years either in person or online. This is where her parents and grandparents were converted giving their lives to our Lord and Saviour in the early 1930’s. Charlotte worked for 22 years as a secretary. For the department of Labour (6months), then moving on to the Federal Department of National Defense Base Gagetown then back to the department of Labour. She finished out her working career (18 years) with NB Mutual Insurance and United General. She enjoyed her work and meeting so many wonderful people that she spoke of often.

 

Visitation will be held at the Noonan United Pentecostal Church on Tuesday June 8, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service by invitation will be held on Wednesday June 9, 2021 at the Noonan United Pentecostal Church at 2 pm with Rev. Bruce Arseneault and Rev. Donald McCarty officiating. The public are invited to attend at York Funeral Home’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/YorkFH/  Burial will follow in the Sunnybank Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Noonan United Pentecostal Church, Hospice Fredericton or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
