Obituary of Ted Mather

The passing of Redver William "Ted" Mather of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Elsie (Young) Mather, occurred on Friday, May 28, 2021 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on November 20, 1930 in Sunny Brae, NB, he was a son of the late Redver and Beatrice Mather. 

 

Ted is survived by his sons, Bruce Mather (Heather Brander) of Fredericton, NB and Scott Mather (Heather) of Kemptville, ON; grandchildren, Matthew and Madison and their mother, Lisa Mather, Sydney, Mackenzie, Keaton, Aaron and Ashley; sister, Holly Dobson.  Besides his wife and parents, Ted was predeceased by his sister, Pat Lockwood.

 

Ted was a long time member of the United Church and the Y’s Men.  He officiated local football for a number of years and was also a member of the Fredericton Lawn Bowling Club.

 

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 7-9 pm.  A Memorial Service will take place from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 11 am with Rev. ­­­­­­­­Brian DeLong officiating. A Private Family Interment will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton, NB.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
