Obituary of Augusta V. J. Cochrane

The passing of Augusta V. J. Cochrane, wife of the late Ottie R. Cochrane on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the Pine Grove Nursing Home.  Born on March 13, 1929 in Geary, NB, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Eva (Smith) Carr.  Mrs. Cochrane was a housewife and worked as a custodian and was an attendant of Journey Church (First Wesleyan Church).

Augusta is survived by her daughter, Dianna Toon (John) of Fredericton, NB; son, Blair Cochrane (Kathy) of Ripples, NB; grandchildren, Brent Toon (Chantal), Mark Toon (Sarah), Julie Jackson (Paul), Chantelle Schriver (Craig) and Nicholas Cochrane (Morgan); sister, Shirley Crouse of Geary, NB; great grandchildren, Dylan and Gareth Jackson and Drake Cochrane; brother in law, Ernest Scott of Nashwaak, NB; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Amanda Robinson, Florence Carr, Grace Carr and Christina Scott, her brothers, Gary Carr, Theodore Carr (the Late Ethel) and Hansel Carr (the Late Cornelia); brothers in law, Winston Crouse and Coburn Carr.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  The Funeral Service will take place at Journey Church on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 2 pm with Rev. Matthew Maxwell officiating.  Due to the current health issues the public is asked to register at the church at journeyonline.ca/church; the funeral will also be webcast from the church at Journey Church Fredericton YouTube or Facebook pages.   Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Pine Grove Foundation, Last Post Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Society, or the charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
