Obituary of Joyce Pauline Richardson

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joyce Pauline Richardson, wife of the late Orland Richardson, on April 12, 2021 at Paradise Villa, Fredericton.  Born in Woodstock on February 24, 1931 she was the daughter of the late William and Mildred (Hatto) Graham. Joyce was a homemaker, forever redecorating, painting and making the home a better place. She was an avid gardener. Her gardens and ponds were famous in the neighbourhood and she was happiest hosting garden shows and parties. Her motto, “I could make a weed bloom!”

She and Orland were great travelers. Her love of being “on the road” had them across Canada many times, south and to Europe with special friends. Joyce was a founding member of the Nashwaaksis Untied Baptist Church, a member of WMS and choir. She was a very active member of Nashwaaksis Y’smenettes club where she made many lifelong friends.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Linda Boudreau (Richard), Gail Richardson; son, Bill Richardson (Rhonda); grandchildren, John and Luke Johnson, Josh and Jared Boudreau, Jessie and Sarah Richardson; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Bettyann Calendar; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Joyce was predeceased by her son, Orland Richardson Jr; sister, Marion Brown; brothers, Gordon and Robert Graham.

Arrangements are entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home.  A Private Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery, Fredericton at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff and management at Paradise Villa for the wonderful and passionate care Joyce received over the years.
