Obituary of Gail Irene Wellings

Please share a memory of Gail to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with sadness we announce the death of Gail Irene Wellings after a brief illness on Monday, March 22, 2021 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  She was born on April 5, 1950 in Canterbury, NB. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Wellings of 49 years.  Gail leaves behind three daughters, April Wellings (Ken), Jennifer Wellings-Gallant and Shilo Boucher (Troy); she will be sadly missed by her only granddaughter, Alexandra Irene Gallant; two sisters, Laurie Cole and Norma Davidson (Earl); brother in law, Fred Wellings (Pat); her nieces and nephews, Christine Wellings and Stephen Wellings (Yolaine), Devon Cole (Janelle), Brogan Cole, Lynn Fletcher (Jay) and Steven Davidson (Charlotte); several great nieces and nephews.  Gail was predeceased by her mother, Phyllis Estey; father, Robert Pierce; step father, Stanley Estey and her brother, Robert Estey.

Gail was a loving mother and grandmother.  Her passion was her successful tax business, which she worked at for over 30 years, earning much respect from her clients for her efficiency and extensive knowledge of income tax. Besides spending time with her granddaughter, she enjoyed her two golden retrievers, Sienna and Legend and her cat, Sam.  In past years, Gail put much effort into restoring her grandparent’s former home in Forest City, NB, so her family could enjoy the beauty of the area and come together for family occasions.  Gail was generous to anyone she met and if you needed something she was always willing to help. She will be missed by all those that had a chance to get to know her.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff of the ICU at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for the great care they provided to Gail as well as to the family members visiting.

A Celebration of Gail’s Life will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 1 pm with Rev.
