Obituary of Charles Elwood Amos

The passing of Charles Elwood Amos of Amostown, NB, husband of Barbara V Amos, occurred on March 10, 2021 at his residence. Born in January 19, 1925 in Amostown, NB. He was the son of the late Richard and Vilda (Clowater) Amos. Charles was an active member in the community, loved fishing and riding his 4-wheeler, especially to plow snow in the winter time. He also adored his Toronto Maple Leafs and was around to see them win the Stanley Cup 11 times.

 

In addition to his loving wife Barbara of 48 years, Charles is survived by his two daughters, Charlotte Munn (Kevin) Taxis River and Jane Amos (Dave) of Fredericton; stepsons, Jack Rae (Carolyn) and Joseph Rae, both of Moncton; grandchildren, Janet, Jessica, Cameron, Kenneth, Dallas, Luc and Julia; great grandchildren, Kristina, Sebastian, Jolene, Jorja, Sophia and Asher; siblings, Gladys and Otto, both of Fredericton, Arnold (Pat) of French Lake, Sharon of Stoney Plains, AB, Edna (Donnie) Holtville, Wayne (Diane), Eva (Vingie), Haviland (Shirley), Donna (Willard) Munn, Marilyn Hovey, all of Doaktown; sister-in-law, Betty Amos of Fredericton.

 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Alice; brother, Percy; stepsons, Thomas Rae & Albert Rae.

 

Visitations will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel 7681 Route 8 New Bandon NB Saturday March 13, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at St. Thomas United Church, 367 Main Street, Doaktown on March 14, 2021 at 2 pm with the service being shared by Rev Brian Curtis & Rev Paul McGrattan. Due to current restrictions seating will be limited. Interment will take place at a later date. Those who wish, remembrance may be made to the St Thomas United Church and New Brunswick Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services.
