Obituary of Carolyn Vivian Palmer

After a brief illness on March 9, 2021, Carolyn Palmer of Ludlow, NB passed away peacefully.  The death occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB.  Born in Ludlow, NB on September 24, 1944, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Harry Cecil and Alberta Grace (Dudley) Palmer.

 

Special aunt and godmother to many, Carolyn is survived by her brother, Blake Palmer of Fredericton, NB; sisters, Janet Lee (Palmer) Eveleigh and her husband, Rev. James Eveleigh of Conception Bay South, NL and Allie Lou (Palmer) Bunn and her husband, Richard Bunn of Toronto, ON; 22 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

 

Besides her parents, Carolyn was predeceased sisters, Viola (Davis) Strachan, Zona Carson, Dora “Dee” Stillman; and brothers, Bruce and Gerald Palmer. 

 

Carolyn was a graduate of the Upper Miramichi Regional High School and worked in Fredericton for the Provincial Government for many years.  She retired in 1996 at the age of 52.  In her younger years, Carolyn enjoyed travelling and went on several trips to Europe, Africa, and also Nashville.  Carolyn was a skilled quilter and knitter and loved to keep up on family history.  She had also been a long-time volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross Blood Donation clinics in Fredericton and was an active member of the community of Ludlow and attended St. James the Greater Anglican Church for many years until health issues restricted her mobility.  She will be missed by many extended family members. 

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of York Funeral Home’s Miramichi Valley Chapel.  A Celebration of Life will take place at St. James the Greater Anglican Church, Ludlow, NB on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 2 pm with Rev. Neil Osiowy officiating. Interment will be in St. James the Greater Anglican Church Cemetery.  Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Carolyn are asked to consider the Canadian Red Cross, St. James the Greater Anglican Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
