Obituary of Ernie Norrad Sr
With great sadness, the family of Marshall "Ernie" Norrad Sr. of Holtville, NB announce his sudden passing on March 2, 2021 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born on February 5, 1948 in Hayesville, NB, he was the son of Edith (late Christopher) Munn and the late Robin Norrad. Ernie worked as a truck driver, most recently for JD Irving Woodlands. Since retirement, Ernie has kept himself busy building and fixing everything that needed done. He liked playing guitar, camping, skidooing, ATVing and having a good time with friends and family. He especially loved time spent with his grandson.
In addition to his loving wife of 43 years, Anne (Scott) Norrad, Ernie is survived by his daughter, Amanda Hayes (Mike) of Killarney Road; son, Marshall Norrad Jr. (Lynsey) of Durham Bridge; grandson, Nathan Hayes; siblings, Bobby Norrad (Molly) of Hayesville, Judy Lovelace (Tommy) of Hayesville, Mont Norrad (Cindy) of Parkers Ridge, Joan MacKay (Bill) of Hayesville, Nita Paul (Paul) of Holtville, Joyce Astle of Holtville; mother-in-law Mardell Scott of Fredericton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Besides his father, Ernie was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Benny Astle; sister-in-law, Carolyn White; and father-in-law, Deverne Scott.
Arrangements are in the loving care of York Funeral Home's Miramichi Valley Chapel. An interment will be arranged at a later date.
