Obituary of Kathryn Faye Seymour

Please share a memory of Kathryn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

The passing of Kathryn Seymour of Royal Road, NB, wife of Ted Seymour, occurred on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 3, 1947 in Belleisle Creek, NB, she was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude (Burtt) Reid.

Kathryn is survived by her children Dawn Kavanaugh of Hoyt, NB, Beverley Seymour (Craig Furgason) of Calgary, AB, Todd Seymour of Fredericton, NB and Samantha Seymour of Fredericton, NB; brother Russell Reid of Estey's Bridge, NB; grandchildren Brittany and Owen Seymour; nieces Penny (Tim) Cormier and Paige (Nick) Thomas. Kathryn was predeceased by her brother Keith Reid; sister-in-law Linda Reid and two infant children.

Kathryn wore many hats throughout her life. Cook, referee, household nurse and chauffeur just to name a few. Ted’s special name for her was Petunia but she’d come running to Mum, Nanny or Aunt Ka. She loved to love on people, her hands were rarely still.  You could always find her in the kitchen as she loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nanny. She had a caring and nurturing way and always made people around her feel loved and special.  She was the strongest woman we know. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A celebration of Kathryn’s life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton Boys and Girls Club or to a charity of the donor's choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
