My dear mother Jean More (90] in Almonte Orchardview residence Is much stricken by the news of John’s passing. First as a recent widow herself to his dear wife, his immediate family, siblings (Heather and Tim) and extended family. Also to friends and schoolmates from Almonte. Mom felt very close to John’s namesake his father Dr John and his sweet wife Alma. Dr. John over his many years of practice, as well as travelling with my mom and dad (Logan) after retirement, spoke often about each of his children to them. John, Tim and Heather. He admired each for the persons they were and we heard of John’s talents. Of course, John was my sister’s age and class however I so enjoyed meeting John at school and his work. I can still picture him painting a beautiful mural on the wall of the high school. It may still be there. I remember how peaceful he seemed and quietly joyful in life and his art. A very pleasant “lad” as we would call him here in the Ottawa valley. A life well lived and well loved and loving it seems he remained. And for knowing him our life will remain enriched. His time here wove pleasant steady memories our hearts will not forget. To Heather and Dr. Barry (uncle) who lived so close a special acknowledgement of the cost of loving involvement involves and the void. Last but not least to my longtime classmate Dr. Tim it is really something to lose your brother. Mom lost 2 siblings at around the same age and suddenly meaning the shock is understood. You have only ever known from first breath you had mother father and older brother....Our siblings especially those we call big brother or sisters are so part of our identity from birth. You had different interests. But somehow as with my big sister lowed the path and were a guardian to us of sorts. Peace to you. God bless. We know you will keep his memory honoured and strong in your lives now and ahead. Linda (More) Dryer and Jean ( the late Logan) Moreland Dawn More.

Hello Marilyn, Sasha, Kathleen, John Jr. and David:
We are sorry to hear about John’s death.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.
This poem was passed along to our family when my mom passed away. We found it to be of some comfort. We hope you find it helpful.
" We can shed tears that you are gone,
Or we can smile because you lived.
We can close our eyes and pray that you will come back,
Or we can open our eyes and see all that you have left us.
Our hearts can be empty because we can't see you,
Or they can be full of the love that we shared.
We can turn our backs on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or we can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
We can remember you and only that you are gone,
Or we can cherish your memory and let it live on.
We can cry and close our minds, be empty and turn our backs,
Or we can do what you would want:
Smile ,open our eyes
Love and go on."
Take care!
Love Heather, Matthew, Christopher, William and David
