Obituary of Willa Lelia Fox

Following a brief illness, Willa Lelia Fox of Fredericton, NB, formerly of Chaplin Island Road, Newcastle, NB, passed away on October 10, 2020 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Willa was born in Newcastle, NB on May 24, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Campbell and Janie May (Astle) Sobey. Willa leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years of marriage to Merle Lloyd Fox.

Willa worked for the York Manor of Fredericton NB for over 25 years of service in the housekeeping Dept. Willa loved to clean, bake, walking to coffee shops, eating out with friends and family. She loved to travel to PEI or the Cabot trail for vacations. She loved going to church and enjoyed attending the Hope City Church and listening to the gospel singing. One thing we can say about Willa she was very lovable, she loved people, and she was very sociable.

Besides her loving husband Willa is survived by her sister, Verna Huebschwerlin (Sobey); nieces and nephews Kelvin and Angela, Hal, Paul, John, Rick, Mark, Kathy, Debbie, Doris, Donna, Robin, Ashley, Mathew, Daphne, Joanne, and Kevin and several great nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Earl and Delbert; sisters, Sadie and Ivy.

Special music from Hope City Church, Pastor Joseph Beesley officiating and Eulogy will be given by her good friend Karen MacRae.

Visitation will take place at the York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral will take place at York Funeral Home T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, October 15, 2020, by invitation only due to the current health restrictions. Interment will take place in Maple Glen Cemetery, Maple Glen.
