Obituary of Cathy Lynn Rankin

The passing of Cathy Lynn Rankin of Fredericton, NB, wife of David Rankin, occurred on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Fredericton Hospice House.  Born on October 26, 1959 in Fredericton, NBshe was the daughter of the late Frederick Earl and Barbara Jean (Taylor) MacFarlane.  

 

Cathy was a Pharamceutical Technician, she worked at the Devon, Dr. Evertt Chalmers Regional Hospital and the Atlantic Superstore Pharmacy.  She enjoyed nature, loved horses and feeding the birds. Cathy was a blessing to the family. Her kindness and compassion showed no bounds. Going out of her way to make people feel special and always seeing the good in everybody, she was such a blessing.

 

In addition to her husband, Cathy is survived by daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth Rankin of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Michael and Garth MacFarlane; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Wendy Foster.

 

Due to the current health situation the Celebration of Life, by invitation will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 2 pm with Rev. Kay Clowater officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fredericton, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Fredericton Hospice House or the charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
