Obituary of Harold Amber Stairs

The passing of Harold Amber Stairs, husband of Shirley (Dean) (White) Stairs of Burtt's Corner, NB, occurred on August 7, 2020 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton.  Born on January 19, 1928 in Campbell's Settlement, NBhe was the youngest son of the late Helard and Martha Annie (Schriver) Stairs.  Harold was employed with Texaco for 15 years, as well as Bates Vending and many other various companies. He was a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, having served overseas from 1953 to 1955. He enjoyed salmon fishing and playing his guitar and singing.

 

In addition to his wife of 41 years, Harold is survived by his children, Paulette Boyd (Gary), Susan Paul (Walter), Sheri Crumbaugh (Daniel), Theresa Crumbaugh (Joel), William Stairs (Mary), Mark Stairs, Tom Stairs (Debbie); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
 

Harold was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant son; sisters, Velma Peterson, Laura Dunlop, Elva Price; brothers, Dowie, George and Eldridge Stairs.
 

A Private Funeral will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 11 am with Rev. Ivan Carr officiating. Due to COVID-19 Restrictions, the public is invited to view the service through our website at www.yorkfh.com Interment will take place in Lenentine Cemetery, Southampton, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to War Amps.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
