Obituary of Donna Evelyn Osborne

Please share a memory of Donna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

The passing of Donna Evelyn Osborne of Burtts Corner, NB, wife of the late Ronald Osborne occurred on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at York Care Centre.  Born on November 22, 1943 in Burton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Marion (Brown) Dillon.

Donna loved and thrived in her role of homemaker and mother; homemade cookies lined up in large clear cookie jars were a staple in the Osborne household. Once all 3 boys had moved on to junior high school, she started working in the school system in the cafeteria and many years later she retired from a career she was proud of as the Supervisor of Beaver Foods for multiple school cafeterias.  Donna was an active member of her community, a member of T.O.P.S Burtts Corner Chapter and the Keswick Valley Recreation Centre. Donna enjoyed life and always had a smile, a story, or a dessert treat for anyone!  She enjoyed the simple things in life - gardening, cooking, watching curling, music, time with family and travelling and camping with her late husband Ron.

Donna is survived by her three sons, Steven of Fredericton, NB, Allen of Oromocto, NB and  Wayne (Suzanne) of Fredericton, NB her amazing grandchildren, Thayer “TJ”, Nicholas, Eric and Anna; her loving sisters, Joyce Bourgoin (Reno), Norma Brewer (Stephen)  both of Burtts Corner, NB and Kathleen Brown, (Jerry) of Bear Island, NB; and brothers, Gerald Dillon (Lynda) of Camden East, ON, John Dillon (Betty) of Valley View, AB and Karl Dillon (Debbie) of Burtts Corner, NB; and several nieces, nephews and cousins across Canada and across the ocean. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Madeline Martin.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 6-8 pm and is open to the public following social distancing rules. However, the Funeral Service on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 11 am with Rev. Stephen Hoyt officiating will be limited to an invited number of people.
