Reid, Linda Marlene

 

The passing of Linda Marlene Reid, wife and best friend of Russell Reid of Estey's Bridge, NB, occurred on June 23, 2020 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton.  Born on May 6, 1947 in Fredericton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Florence (Brewer) Birch and the late Lynwood Estabrooks. Early in her career, Linda worked for the Department of Education and for many years as a bookkeeper at Percy Jones and Sons. She loved to knit hats for newborns at the hospital, cheer on all her favourite hockey players and goalies, camping and stock car racing #52. She especially loved spending time with family.

 

In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by her daughters, Penny Cormier (Tim) of Estey's Bridge and Paige Thomas (Nicky) of Royal Road; grandchildren, Brett and Chad Cormier, Tyler, Travis and Tori Thomas; sister, Gail Jones (Eric) of Fredericton; sister-in-law, Kathryn Seymour (Ted) of Royal Road; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Eileen Corey.

 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law, George and Gertrude Reid; brother-in-law, Keith Reid.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of York Funeral Home. The family will be welcoming guests at Russell and Linda's home on Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 1 - 3 pm. The family would like to thank Dr. Schaus, the staff of 3SW and Palliative Care for their care and support. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or Fredericton Boys and Girls Club.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
