Stairs, Faith Ellen

The passing of Faith Ellen Stairs occurred on June 19, 2020 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital after a hard-fought battle with Leukemia. Born on May 27, 1957 at the Victoria Public Hospital in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late George and Velma (Jones) Stairs. Faith was a graduate of FHS and NBCC-Woodstock. She spent most of her adult life in Calgary, Alberta, working in mortgages and finance. She moved back to Fredericton after the death of her father to spend more time with her family. After retirement, she enjoyed her final employment at Kent’s Building Supplies. Faith was a true animal lover. She always adopted the oldest dog, the one least likely to be adopted, and gave them a loving home, most recently Sadie, Gus, and Riley.

Faith leaves behind siblings Janis Violette (Gil), George Stairs, Beth Armstrong (Garry), Bradford Stairs (Madonna), much loved nieces and nephews Joel Violette (Nicki), Jeanna McMurtrie (Jamie), Patrick Stairs (Andrea), aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Faith’s family would like to thank the staff at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital and the Saint John Regional Hospital for the care they provided during this final chapter of her life.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 7-9 pm. A private graveside service will be held at Barony Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to your local SPCA or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
