Obituary of Sylvia Marlene Pond

 The passing of Sylvia Marlene Pond of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Goldie Pond, occurred on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at York Care Centre.  Born on May 18, 1941 in Flinn Flon, MB, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Olive Popinuik. 

Sylvia is survived by her son, Mitchell Pond of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Tyna Arsenault (Robert) and Alisha Pond (Nathan); great grandchildren, Jordan, Hailey, Nicholas, Sophie, Rowan and Evie; and brothers, Ralph and Dennis Popinuik.

 
Besides her husband, Sylvia was predeceased by her son, Michael Pond; sister, Shirley Melnick; and brother, Walter Popinuik. 

In keeping with Sylvia's wishes there will be no visitation or service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fredericton SPCA or the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick.  The family would like to thank the caring nurses and physicians involved with Sylvia’s care at Birch Grove in York Care.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
