Obituary of Ruth Lillian MacKay

It is with deep sadness that the family of Ruth Lillian MacKay announces her passing at York Care Center on Saturday April 11, 2020. She was born in Jacquet River N.B. August 14,1942. Ruth was the daughter of the late Murray Rosengren and the late Barbara (Harvey) Cleary. She was a housewife for most of her life, she worked part-time at Calp's, Hogan's Jewelry, Sears. Mom enjoyed ceramic classes, tole painting as hobbies, she enjoyed decorating her home, she had a great love for Elvis Presley, loved to play music, dance and she was an excellent cook. Ruth enjoyed summers at their cottage on Davidson Lake.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Dow MacKay; two children Natalie Brewer (Munroe), Mark MacKay (Connie); three grandchildren, of which she adored so much, Whitney Brewer of Fredericton, Nicholas (Brielle) Brewer of Alberta and Nathan Brewer of Halifax; sisters, Norma (Gordon) Kilfillen and June Rosengren; brother, Rudy (Sharon) Rosengren; sister-in-law Kathleen (Lorne) Hawkins; special niece April Wheeler (Trevor)  and her children Michael and Jayden, many great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends, her best friend Sheila Wyers was very special to her. Ruth was predeceased by her parents and father-in-law and mother-in-law Fred and Doris MacKay of Keswick Ridge; grand parents, aunts and uncles; sisters-in-law Barara Murch (MacKay) and Beatrice Rosengren; nephew Terry Kilfillen and cousin June Lockhart.

A special thank you to all the staff at York Care Center for their care over the last twelve years and a special thank you to Trevor who took excellent care of mom.

At the families request there will be no visitation or funeral service a graveside service will take place at later date. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Alzheimer's Society. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
