CAMPBELL, CLARENCE WILLIAM

The passing of Clarence William Campbell of Douglas, NB, loving husband of Marguerite (Witherly) Campbell, occurred on March 27, 2020, at York Care Centre. Born March 16, 1930 in Birch Ridge, Victoria County, NB, he was the son of the late Ralph and Grace (Wright) Campbell. Clarence was a retired civil technician with NB Power. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Holy Joe’s Men’s Group, and was a Cub Master for 16 years. Clarence loved his work, whether at his workplace or home, his family, and his friends. He enjoyed fishing, fiddleheading, strawberrying, storytelling, reading, cooking while camping, and genealogy. His rivers were the Odellach, the Tobique and the Saint John. Clarence’s gentle nature charmed his caregivers at the Dr Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, the Veteran’s Health Unit, and the York Care Centre during these last 3 months. He thought they were “The very best!” We, his loved ones, truly appreciate all their efforts.

In addition to his loving wife of 58 years, Clarence is survived by his sons, Lindsay Campbell (Cheryl) of Rusagonis, Lyndon Campbell of Douglas, and Ian Campbell (Jaime) of Douglas; grandchildren, Ashley Woodworth (Dom), Jenna and Keeland Campbell; great grandchildren, Olivia and Jackson Woodworth; close brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Smith; and brothers, Leigh and Donald Campbell.
