Obituary of Cherry Tomilson

TOMILSON, CHERRY

The passing of Cherry Tomilson of Tay Creek, NB, wife of the late Gordon Tomilson occurred on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at the Nashwaak Villa, NB. Born in 1927 in Winnipeg, MB, she grew up in Cornwall, ON, the daughter of the late Stanley and Helen (Whitham) Williams. Cherry worked as a Registered Nurse at the Stanley Hospital and the Nashwaak Villa.

Cherry is survived by her daughters, Brenda Ashley (Allan) of Jacksonville, AK and Wendy Tomilson (Randy Bask) of Beaverlodge, AB; sons, Gary Tomilson (Cindy) of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB, Michael Tomilson of Calgary, AB and Andrew Tomilson of Ottawa, ON; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; aunt, Edna Johnstone; her sister's two sons, Bruce and Murray Munro; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken Tomilson, Lois and Jim Atherton, Marion and Alton Adams, and Margie Caughey; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Cherry was predeceased by her stepmother, Ada Devitt; son, James Tomilson; sister, Neoma “Noni” Temple and stepbrother, George Devitt, and stepsister Marion Rice.

There will be a Celebration of Life service to be announced. Interment will take place in Stirling United Church Cemetery, Tay Creek, NB at a later date.
