I spent a lovely afternoon with Aunt Gert in October 2019 when I was home. I posted some pictures from 2007 that most people probably have not seen. Kathy and I picked up mum from York Manor and drove over to Priceville to visit Aunt Gert and Uncle Bun. We had a lovely afternoon visit and "the girls" all went to lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Miramichi. I recall Aunt Gert trying to pay for the meal but I told her it was my treat that day - and had to make sure I did not let the waitress give her the bill.
I was seldom back to the Miramichi since I was a kid, and I had never been upstairs at Grammie Price's house. I loved the old cream shed and the back porch that looked out over the river and the footbridge. Gert gave me a tour of the upstairs that day. I remember her showing me a picture of her, mum and Aunt Phyllis that was in one of the bedrooms. I told Gert they all looked like movie stars - the pictures were taken at Harvey Studios in the 40s.
I am so glad I went to visit in the fall. Rest in Peace Aunt Gert.

To Brian O'Donnell and many other nieces and nephews;
Gertie as we called her stayed at our home and taught school in Bloomfield Ridge in the late fourties.
She probably taught me about grade five. Being a saucy brat at the time I told her if she beat me mom
would raise her board. Gertie laughed but mom didn't! I regret now that I didn't get to visit her although
we did get to talk on the phone last fall. We stopped at her home one day last July with a box of freshly
picked strawberries but she wasn't home. We tried another day but she wasn't home again. Finally we
did get to have a nice phone call later in the fall.
Kind regards to all the family
Izella & Laurie Hunter .

Gert was such a lovely lady. I was fortunate to have met her and truly enjoyed our little chats and our big hugs! My heart goes out to her amazing nieces and nephews who were so good to her. She will be missed!
Rest In Peace Gert!

Brian and I became acquainted with Mrs. Price when she and Doug came to our greenhouse to purchase plants. It was no trouble to tell she had been a school teacher! Over the years she became a very special customer and it was always a delight to have a visit with her. Mrs. Price, although she said to call her Gertrude, is Mrs. Price to us, had many qualities that we admired and especially her caring heart. A dear lady who is leaving us with lots of good memories. We extend our sympathy to all who were close to her.
