I knew Lionel from bowling with him and he was always a kind and gentle soul. He will be greatly missed by all.
I knicknamed him "Double L" and he told me it was the only time in his life that he had a nickname and he seemed quite pleased about it and we enjoyed a laugh over it.

Rose and I have been friends, well more like sisters for the past 38 years and she always spoke so highly of her dad. I know how much you will miss him, he was such an inspiration to so many people, especially you Rose. Sending you and your family heartfelt sympathy during this most difficult time. Praying for God to give you comfort and strength and much love. I look forward to meeting Lionel one day in heaven. God bless you all. With all my love. Cindy ❤

To the family of Lionel Leger,
I first met Lionel in Woodstock, when he was the Saftey Officer with the Dept. of Transportation.
Lionel was a very nice man and he was interested in his work. He worked well with our staff.
During the past years it was good to keep in touch at the monthly DOT coffee parties and annual visits at a Christmass coffee time at my home.
Lionel will be missed by all those who knew him, and I at this time wish to offer my condolences to your family.

Lionel would say that he was born and brought up near the salt water in Kent County. It must have touched his soul, for he was a very good and honest person. I will always remember Lionel as my inspiration and mentor in my career with Labour Canada. He is and will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Thank you Lionel for your guidance, friendship and sense of humour.
