Obituary of Rolly Bishop

 

BISHOP, ROLAND LAWRENCE

The family of Roland Lawrence Bishop sadly announces his passing in the evening of February 2, 2020 at home, he was 82 years old, son of the late Marshall and Helen (Flewelling) Bishop. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Norma Sylvia (Green); his daughter, Leah Jane (Fred Jeffries); son, Lawrence Jeffrey (Sarah Jane).  He also had five grandchildren; Jared (Gabby), Maggie Jane (Matt Losee), Joel (Jessica), Kyle, and Katie (Brad MacDonald); his great-grandchildren are; Pearl, Forrest, Carmen, Candace and Theodora.  He has two surviving brothers; Leonard and Allen (Jackie).

 

Rolly was born in Chipman, NB, and had an extremely dedicated work ethic.  He was a bookkeeper, truck driver and all around handyman.  After retiring from his job in Anchorage, Alaska, he returned to New Brunswick and stayed busy.  Until he fell too ill to continue, he could often be found doing his favourite thing, cutting wood on the property he had on the Royal Road.  He and Norma spent 24 years wintering in the warmer climates of Florida and a short bit in Arizona.  They also loved traveling, having gone to 35 countries in 6 continents over many years.  All his womenfolk will miss his hugs.
