Having worked with Ken for close to 5 years, I have countless fond memories of conversations we had sitting in his office. From our mutual interest in Subarus and our connection to Tabusintac, to long discussions about farming and best practices for growing giant pumpkins, we always had something to talk about to distract us from work. Ken was always welcoming, ready to help and an important part of my work "family" at ELG. He will be missed.

Thinking of you all this week and heart broken to hear of Kens passing. My best memories of Ken were many years ago spending Christmas Day dinner together. Being the only great granddaughter for quite some time i sometimes was the center of lots of friendly teasing from the boys. Although I do remember I was always able to convince Ken to play dolls with my newest doll or girly toy. Over the years our paths didn’t not cross as often as I wish they had but, I was lucky in my regular phone calls to Gram Bryenton she was always up to date on what everyone in the family was up to so, I was always able to hear about Ken and his boys. I am so fortunate that the last Christmas I was home in Miramichi, while in Tabusintac for a visit, Kenneth and Janet were also there, so we got to catch up in person. I wish I was there in person this week to give everyone a big hug. Please know my thoughts are with you all and so sorry for your loss. I know one thing for sure, if there is hunting and fishing in heaven I can picture Ken and Granddad having a wonderful time!
Love you all, Jennifer (Bryenton) Kirwan xo

So many wonderful memories of our wilderness excursions. The thing that Ken really impressed upon me was this curiosity and zest he had for life. I always looked forward to our adventures on the trail or water and learning about what he was up to. Even though our lives became busy and took us in different directions I will look back on those days and fondly remember those walks in the woods and the rich conversations we had. Wish I could be there for the memorial but am on the west coast of Canada right now - know my thoughts are with you Janet and the boys. Boys, your dad was awesome, fun and I always figured we trained him to be a great dad with our constant badgering are we there yet on those hiking trips. So lucky to have known Ken -my prayers and thoughts are with you.
In memory of Ken our family has made a donation to the Stan Cassidy Foundation.
Take care,
Jonathan Foster

One of many homebrewing friends of Ken here, representing a very large number of other friends that he had made at our annual event that's dedicated to this theme. Every year a number of us would get together for a celebration of this hobby, and Ken was always there, demonstrating his art so we could marvel at the precision of his process and the uniform quality of his product. It was obvious that he knew a tremendous amount about the things that interested him, and the way he spoke, quietly but with great assurance, on a huge number of themes and variety of personal interests, led to many pleasant conversations over the years. There will be a big hole left in the world now, but he left our casual group with a great number of very fine memories that we can look back on with fondness and a smile. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
There was no "gesture" picture choice out of the ones available on this page that represents what Ken meant to our group, but perhaps the little teddy bear could best represent his comfortable and reliable presence.

Ken and I were classmates in the Environmental Leadership Program at UNB many years ago, and quickly became friends. We shared a lot of laughs, ski trips and some amazing hikes along the Fundy Trail. I remember Ken fondly for his generosity, sense of humor and ability to make anyone feel welcome. After UNB, life took us separate ways as life seems to do, and sadly I never had the pleasure of meeting his family, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his loved ones. He was a wonderful friend and man.

My dearest friend, I cherished time we spent together mulling over the perfect pints of beer you made. The hikes on the fundy trail before it was even staked out...always washing the dishes because you did not want the dog licking them at all.
Noble and kind hearted with a hearty laugh that is what I will remember. Janet, Owen and Lucas my heart goes out to you and I offer my sincere condolences as well as to the whole family.
