Obituary of Burton Colford

The passing of Burton Leo Colford of Fredericton, NB, formerly of Weaver Siding, NB occurred on Thursday, May 17, 2013 at Shannex Parkland. Born on August 3, 1934 in Weaver Siding, NB, he was a son of the late Hugh and Mabel (Tucker) Colford. Burton is survived by his sisters, Mary Colford and Bernice O’Keefe both of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Vincent (Peggy) Colford of Blissfield, NB, Robert (Myrtle) Colford and Simon (Lorna) Colford both of Fredericton, NB; sister-in-law, Lavina-Jean Colford; brothers-in-law, Walter Merrill, Alden (Mary) Jones and Peter Shewciw; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Burton was predeceased by his companion, Theresa Burns; sisters, Esther Shewciw, Hilda Merrill, Elizabeth “Betty” Robichaud and Louise Jones; brothers, John Colford and Bernard Colford; sister-in-law, Patty Colford; brothers-in-law, Michael O’Keefe and Charles ‘Ned” Robichaud. Visitation will take place at the Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of The Annunciation Church, Doaktown, NB on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 11 am with Father Joseph Okoko as celebrant. Interment will take place in the Holy Name of Mary Cemetery, Blissfield, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Arthritis Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
