Obituary of Edna Bird

It is with rejoicing that we announce the peaceful passing of Edna Kathleen May Bird, to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born at McLean Settlement, York Co. on May 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alberta MacNeill. Edna enjoyed cross country skiing, bowling, knitting, crocheting, sewing, country and country gospel music. Edna is survived by her three daughters, Maxine Spencer (Darrel) of Fredericton, NB, Marcene Nason (Allan) of Fredericton, NB and Daphne McCann (John) of Miramichi, NB; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Robert Newton Bird, she was predeceased by eight brothers. A Funeral Service celebrating her life will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Brad Little officiating. A Private Interment will take place at Dayton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Salvation Army, Bridges of Canada or the charity of the donor’s choice and would be appreciated by the family.
