Obituary of Hope MacMullin

Hope Angela MacMullin died suddenly at her residence in Fredericton on Saturday, May 11, 2013. Born in Fredericton on November 2, 1943, she was the daughter of Roland and Irene (Jamieson) McMullin. Hope was presently employed with Bayshore Home Care. In her earlier days she was a school teacher and taught every age level in many parts of New Brunswick and 2 years in Quebec. Hope was an active member of the Christ Church (Parish) Church. She was a member of the Order of St. Luke (St. Margaret’s), NB Anglican Cursillo and also an associate member of the Sisterhood of St. John the Divine, Toronto. Many people knew her as their Avon Lady. Hope made it a point to introduce herself to all she met. She enjoyed writing poems, reading and most of all sharing books with others. Hope had a green thumb and wanted to share her plants. She enjoyed being able to speak French to the young people she encountered. She seemed to know every street person in the city and always wanted to give them a prayer card or a granola bar. Hope is survived by her brothers, Rev. William (Bill) MacMullin (Anne), George MacMullin (Mary McMahon) all of Fredericton and Pastor John MacMullin (Mona) of Christie Ridge; nieces, Sarah (Duane), Jennifer; nephew, David; uncle, Carl Jamieson (Barb); aunts, Shirley Jamieson and Ruth McMullin; many cousins. Visitation will take place at Christ Church (Parish) Church, Fredericton on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Christ Church (Parish) Church on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Anthony Kwaw officiating and Canon Jon Lownds assisting, followed by interment at Pine Grove Cemetery, Magaguadavic. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Women’s Shelter on Brunswick Street or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
