Obituary of Devern Scott
The passing of Devern Marsden Scott of Fredericton, NB, husband of Mardelle (Jones) Scott occurred on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 13, 1922 in Southampton, NB, he was a son of the late Lee and Annie (Murdock) Scott. Devern was an auto body technician. He was a veteran of the Second World War. Devern was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 and a former member of Brunswick Street Baptist Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Connie (Emery) LeBlanc, Carolyn (Arnold) White, Diane (Joe) DaCunha, Ann (Ernie) Norrad and Nancy (Tony) Atwin; his sons, Delbert (Sandra), Johnny (Lynn) and Terry (Ann) Scott; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Devern was predeceased by his daughter, Marsha; grandson, Randy Delbert Scott and his sisters, Marion, Muriel and Elma.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Sunday at 6:45 pm for a Legion Tribute Service. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Terry Atkinson officiating. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery.
