Obituary of Victor Brawn

The passing of Victor Basil Brawn, of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Pauline (Hill) Brawn, occurred on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 17, 1926 in McNamee, NB, he was a son of the late Odbur and Hallie (Palmer) Brawn. Victor retired from the military in 1973. He served with NATO in Hanover, Germany as well as with the United Nations as a peacekeeper in the Congo. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Royal Canadian Signal Corps. Victor was affiliated with St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Fredericton and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 78 Boiestown, NB. He is survived by his daughters, Heather Lynn Carr (Jasper) of Stanley, NB and Ruth Ann Gesner of Fredericton, NB; seven grandchildren, Kimberley, Trina, Tanya, Kelly Ann, Mary Jane, Brian and Bradley; several great grandchildren; brothers, Hilton (Vera) of McNamee, NB, Ashley (Rowena) of Ludlow, NB and Cameron (Eva) Brawn of Sussex, NB; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Della Brewer of Fredericton. In addition to his wife and parents, Victor was predeceased by his sons, Brian and Bradley Brawn; sister, Greta Gilks; brothers, Ensley, Byron and Eldon Brawn. There will be no visitation by request of the family. A Memorial Service will be held from St. James the Greater Anglican Church, Ludlow, NB on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 2 pm with Father Brian Spence officiating. Interment will take place at St. James the Greater Anglican Church Cemetery at a later date.
